ConsumerReports.org’s Million Milestone: ConsumerReports.org, the subscription-only website for Consumer Reports magazine, has signed up its one-millionth subscriber. And for anybody who can get a hand on the October issue of Folio magazine (story not available online), I did a story on this milestone, along with some “how-to” tips for magazines.

Steve Outing reacts to the milestone: “I use the site rarely, when I want access to its product review databases, yet each month CR.org bills $2.95 to my credit card. It’s a small expense, but each month as I review my credit-card statement I feel a tinge of anger that CR.org doesn’t offer a per-day rate for occasional users like me.” Trust me, the site will be launching short-term packages by the end of this year.

For more on CR.org, see my notes on interviews I did with CR execs.
