Liquid Audio and Roadrunner to Develop Subscription Digital Music Club: Liquid Audio, which is in the process of reverse-merging with Alliance Entertainment, has tied-up with Roadrunner Records to develop subscription-based digital music clubs. Roadrunner Records has rock artists such as Nickelback and Slipknot.

Roadrunner Records will furnish the content for the service and Liquid Audio will be the digital music service provider supplying the backend infrastructure and delivery software.

The service, to be called “The Vault”, will be launched later this summer. The service will “give hard rock fans access to a specified number of tracks for a monthly fee, as well as the ability to buy individual tracks. Consumers will be able to download music, burn tracks to CD and transfer content to portable devices enabled by Liquid Audio software.”
