Red Herring, after being bruised and battered because of the technology downturn is proving that it is more than a survivor – it is a winner. Last week, we got news that the magazine was nominated for six western region awards from the American Society of Business Press Editors, which also qualifies us for consideration for national awards. On a more personal note, I got nominated for the Individual Profile – Vinod’s Time, which appeared in the February 13, 2001 issue of the magazine. I am up against some really smart people, but I am thrilled that my colleague and friend, Justin Hibbard got nominated for the Best Feature Article: Andrew Evans Blows His Second Chance, July 15, 2001. of course there was another great story we did on enron’s burnout, and we got nominated for that in the Single News Article category – you can read the article at : Enron’s Burnout, September 1, 2001 Writers of this story were Chris Locke, Michael Copeland, Lee Bruno, and Me. Unfortunately only me and Lee remain with the company, but Michael and I often get together for margarittas.
